Job Brief - Senior Designer

The Senior Designer will be responsible for producing visual solutions to the communication needs of the Flora Growth portfolio of brands, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness. As a Senior Designer, you need to be imaginative, aware of current trends and fashion in culture, design and visual arts, working knowledge of the latest design applications, an understanding of print processes, web/digital design, ability to work within deadlines, present to internal teams, leadership and be an advocate for quality control in the design department. Assists in leading the production/design needs across multiple projects and creative campaigns that run across all mediums for the Flora Growth portfolio of brands. Ability to conceptualize new creative in the areas of print, branding, digital, interactive, retail and merchandise. Ability to work with and expand upon existing creative.

 

Functions & Responsibilities

  • Well-rounded experience in marketing, branding, graphic design, copywriting, advertising, and production
  • Great understanding of visual composition and communication, graphic design, and typography
  • Savvy within social media, ability to concept and design for the organic social / digital spaces
  • Ability to rationalize designs and present effectively to internal team and key stakeholders
  • Assist the other members of your team with best practices and presentation skills
  • Day to day check-ins and optimizations across all initiatives
  • Work effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines, with strong attention to detail
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment

 

What does your day look like?

  • Maintain an open creative process to accommodate multiple projects across multiple teams
  • Assist the other members of your team with best practices and presentation skills
  • Day to day check-ins and optimizations across all paid initiatives
  • Collaboration with 3rd party Agencies / Vendors / Contractors
  • Cross department collaboration/strategic huddles with marketing, product, sales, brand, while keeping a pulse on respective markets
  • Help maintain quality control in the design department.

 

Who are your cross-functional partners:  

  • Marketing / Brand Director: Work with this team member to ensure assets, productions, and presentations are crafted and disseminated in a way that delivers on our brand promises. 
  • Creative Director: Work with this team member to collaborate, support, and design all creative asset needs of our brands. Assist in defining the visual language of each brand and be a steward of consistency.
  • Performance Team: Work with this team to develop ad creative, inbound/outbound strategies and design support. 
  • Cross Functional Teams:Work with the other teams/departments to create brand + product marketing stories, campaigns, new releases support, vendor support + more, etc. 

 

Key Requirements

  • Bias toward action
  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Infield or production experience on projects required
  • Proficiency in CS Design Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
  • We are looking for a team member who is already an expert in layouts and formatting
    files for both print and digital.
  • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office / Google / Apple programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote 
  • Experience with mobile platforms, applications a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
