Operations Manager

OVERVIEW

Customer support is our #1 pillar and it begins with ensuring timely product coming into our headquarters from our suppliers and manufacturing partners, to orders leaving outbound to our customers daily. We are looking for a driven Operations Manager who has experience with warehouse operations, managing import of goods from international suppliers, 3rd party logistics, customer support and also managing special projects for our retail and distribution channels. The Operations Manager will work closely with the broader team to ensure all aspects of go-to-market are supported through daily workflow.


The Operations Manager will work diligently to optimize our fulfillment performance (our outbound ecommerce orders to customers) and aid in product development and implementation of best practices for import / warehouse operations including staff, designing workflows, and maintaining an efficient and positive vibe in our HQ.  This position requires excellent organization skills and the ability to motivate / mentor / lead a small team. You should be ready and eager to help us remain compliant, efficient, and profitable across all disciplines of day-to-day operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and fulfillment operations for a high-volume direct-to-consumer business model.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe, clean and organized warehouse; optimize space utilization to ensure efficient flow.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train high quality warehouse associates; determine daily staffing needs and assign work shifts based on sales volumes.
  • Meet or exceed internal service level requirements for order accuracy, same day or next day shipments, returns processing and inventory accuracy.
  • Manage all imports from international suppliers and exports to international distributors, third party logistics and consumers.
  • Perform periodic inventory counts and reconcile with the company’s ecommerce platform to ensure accuracy and avoid out-of-stocks.
  • Manage shipping supplies and handle all restock orders as needed; work with product team to source proper shipper boxes for new product launches.
  • Provide effective and regular communication to team members including opportunities for improvement and key focus areas.
  • Ensure compliance with and associate understanding of all relevant regulatory issues for different categories of goods including batteries, butane and others.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and state and local facility compliance ordinances.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • A minimum of 3-years experience in a management role is preferred.
  • Prior experience in the ecommerce logistics industry is preferred.
  • Passion for delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have baseline level computer skills; experience with Shipstation is preferred.
